This giveaway is open to US residents only, age 18 and over, VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW. My children really enjoyed seeing one of their favorite books on the screen and asked to watch it again and again. In addition, the movie is short so your child is not getting a ton of screen time (great for keeping your kids busy as you get dinner ready!). In the  Room on the Broom movie, there is a quiet gentle music that plays in the background here and there while leaving the most important content, as in the STORY, upfront. My favorite part of this movie is the lack of loud music that comes with most children’s flicks. So often, movie versions of books are changed and leave details out, but in this movie the story is narrated with the book’s text along with animation. Just like The Gruffalo Movie, the Room on the Broom  movie is basically  the book in a movie form. The Home Teacher shares a story retelling activity along with other witch-themed activities and treats. Toddler Approved shares some fun learning and reading/pre reading activities. Looking for some fun activities to go along with Room on the Broom? Check these out! Activities to Go Along with Room on the Broom We love to read the line “DOWN cried the witch!” together and in silly voices and because of the rhyme, my kids are better able to “predict” the words and “read along” with me. The best part, is that my kids and clients LOVE this book. Words such as ginger, clambered, reeds, moors, yowl, bog & cauldron are some that come to mind. In addition, this book provides many opportunities for learning new vocabulary. I also love the large, colorful illustrations by Axel Scheffler. The rhyming patterns can help build phonological awareness skills that help young children be stronger readers and spellers. What will become of the witch and her broom? You need to read to find out! What do I Love about Room on the Broom? But is their room on the broom? Soon the witch and her friends come face to face with a hungry dragon who “is as mean as can be and witch with french fries sounds delicious” to him. On the ground several different animals help find her missing items, and then they too ask for a ride on her broom. “Down!” cried the witch,  as she goes down to retrieve her missing items. The witch and her cat are taking a fly on her broom…but the wind keeps blowing the witches belongings off her stick and to the ground. So I was thrilled when I was contacted to review this book and the new Room on the Broom DVD  just in time for Halloween (no, it’s not a Halloween book, but witches stories go well with the holiday!)  A while back, I reviewed the The Gruffalo Movie  and some products for another Julia Donaldson book The Gruffalo  and was very pleased with the movie and products (you can read more about The Gruffalo book HERE , which we LOVE,  and read more about The Gruffalo Movie  and other products HERE).Īnd…I’m thrilled to tell you all that the great people from Room on the Broom will be giving away a copy of the Room on the Broom DVD  to one my lucky readers! You can read more at the end of this post. It is such a FUN book that most children will really enjoy.
